So….. me and Lil have curated this event called GROUNDED.

Ultimately, it’s a Day party or gathering where people come together around 2 Lips Smackin’s insane menus. We want this event to be a place where people can relate with soulful music, who want to shop intentionally crafted products, for people who use dance and movement as a form of release or even if you are not a dancer you can attend the event to take up whatever space you feel most comfortable with, whether it is laying on your yoga mat, sitting in the cut by yourself or with friends, or just people watching.

We are offering our guest an upscale bar concept, our bar features Grounded’s specialty crafted mocktails, infused teas, herbal hot tea bar, and wine and bubbly cocktails.

I have not been to a party since I went to see a live set by DJ Joe Kay, back in 2023, which was a really good time, I thoroughly enjoyed Joe Kay’s Soulection set, but I was a little overwhelmed with every other DJ set that evening. Overwhelmed in a way that I felt that there was no space to just step aside and enjoy the music without feeling like I have to dance. The music was really upbeat, and I intended to enjoy a complete mellow Soulection set from all DJ’s but it felt more like it was a upbeat, club house mix, and it did not give me the mellow mash ups that I was looking for, but that’s ok!

This does not take away from the event, it just helped me define more of what kind of event I am looking to attend these days, as well as what kind of music I want to hear playing at the event.

I am an 80’s baby to the core, I grew up on some of the best house mixes, neo soul, 90’s R&B classics and even music from the 60’s and 70’s that we call “the oldies” but overall good music. I felt so connected to the music, therefore I have sought after events that give me this same feeling and experience, an event where there is no pressure, you can come to just exist. You can dance, you can watch, you can lay, you can chill, you can eat, you can shop, you can chat, you can be silent.

Grounded is intended to bring to life what I felt as though I have been seeking in an event/party. The music that the 80’s babies grew up on, even the music of today that a typical 80’s baby would enjoy, the 2016 era, the music of the 2008-2012 era and even in the early 2000’s when I was in high school, and of course some 90s music and soulful sounds.

The major piece is the food, I need my party to have food, I don’t think a true event exits without food, like why do I have to leave the event to find food? I want to 2 step with a cougar black bean slider in my left hand or twerk with a piece of pussy be jumpin french toast in my mouth, lmao! Seriously, a food centered party where you can come out and just have a good time as adults, very fashion focused, we plan to lead each event with color theme, while our phenomenal photographer captures our candid moments of the event.

So overall this event is for the people who appreciate this vibe and who love to eat, because 1 thing for sure, 2 Lips Smackin will feed you and the event will feed your soul.
